Today (28 April 2025) BBC reported that last Sunday night (27 April), a migrant detention center in Saada province in northwestern Yemen, which is under the control of the Houthi group, was hit by an airstrike by the United States, resulting in a major tragedy.
At least 68 African migrants were killed and 47 others were seriously injured, Al-Masira TV reported. Buildings collapsed, with dozens of bodies buried under the rubble. The detention center was holding about 115 African migrants, mostly Ethiopians and migrants from the Horn of Africa who had traveled to Yemen by boat in the hope of crossing the border to work in Saudi Arabia, but had faced detention, exploitation, violence and danger in the conflict zone.
